Where can I direct my queries with regard to my electricity account?

All queries with regard to electricity accounts can be directed to the Debtors Accountant at Oshakati Premier Electric offices.

Does OPE belongs to the government of the Republic of Namibia?

OPE is established and governed by Companies Act of 1973 and not by Act of government. Oshakati Premier Electric was initially owned 50/50 by NamPower and Oshakati Town Council and in July 2007, Oshakati Town Council became the only 100% shareholder of OPE.

What procedures should the customer follow to apply for electricity at OPE?

OPE has a standard application form for electricity that is available at its offices in Oshakati. Once the applicant has completed this form; it get forwarded to Oshakati Town Council in order for OTC to verify the ownership of the premises involve. Once verification has been done by OTC, the application form is then brought back to OPE for physical site measurements and preparation of the quotation. As soon as the quotation is paid in full, the electrical installation to the customer’s premises is then done within 5 working days.

What is Oshakati Premier Electric?

Oshakati Premier Electric is a Namibian owned Electricity Distribution and Supply Company in Namibia. It was established in April 2000 in order to distribute and supply electricity within the boundaries of the Oshakati town.

When and how do I receive my electricity account?

Pre-paid customers do not receive any accounts hence they are classified as pre-paid customers. Conventional customers accounts should reach the customers by the 20th of each month via the post and payable before the 7th of the month following.

What about if I experience some power failures during the day or after working hours? Is there a contact number where one can report the power failure?
